Hello, I've gotten a lot out of the information on the forums and threads I had my TKR on Oct 30, 2013 On my second PT appointment after the replacement, my ROM was at 70 and with doing my exercises 3 times a day with out fail, I am still at 70 three months later Thus the decision for the MUA needing to be done I have a question

MUA done 28th March 2025, OS said he had knee at 110 degrees and I had 2 areas of blockage Was kept on continuous motion machine all day at 100 degrees They lent me machine for few days and I got to 107 degrees

I had an MUA on my right tkr at 10 weeks I went home the same day My knee was pretty sore and swollen for a few days so had to go back on crutches for 3-4 days, but after that I was able to drive and get back into things

Think I didn't explain it well After the mua my walking was much improved until last Fridays visit to the PT when further damage was done The result is the scuffing off the foot, which is exactly what she caused previously, before the mua Fortunately, that problem seemed to disappear after the mua Think I need to refer this to the OS I suppose

MUA is done if one’s range of motion (ROM) is very poor However, it re-traumatizes the knee, so while you may get better ROM right away, swelling will set in and will reduce that new number a bit, until the knee settles down again Some members see improvement after an MUA and some members don’t

After Mua my whole leg has loosened up but I am a lot weaker in the leg,the knee is swollen and i have some additional knee pain As before MUA not only was I stiff in the knee but the other leg muscles in particular, my calf muscles were stiff Under MUA the OS got 120 ROM and before I left hospital I did get 90 ROM

Had BTKR on 3 19 12, about 5 weeks later I had the MUA and the right knee split open above the knee cap I was "glued" after the surgery, so no stitches or staples until the doc had to stitch 3 inches of the upper half of the incision during the MUA ROM is at 110 on the left and 105 on the right as of July 2

I had TKA on L on March 11 Was not able to gain any ROM, with Home PT, then started Clinic PT Saw my Dr , and now scheduled for a MUA in 3 days Hoping for the best, will be doing PT 3x a week for 6 weeks Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
